Can you think back to last week when we talked about butterflies, and how they start out their life looking very differently? Frogs are similar! They hatch from and egg as a tadpole, and swim underwater for the first part of their loves. Then they grow legs, and begin to move around on land. Watch this video that shows the amazing transformation:

Isn’t that amazing? They look so different when they are first hatched!

Have a look at the chart below that shows what a frog’s life cycle looks like:

Print each word (egg, tadpole, froglet, adult frog). Think about a frog’s life cycle, and a butterfly’s. What’s different? What’s the same? Can you tell someone in your family?

Here’s a craft project that shows the 4 stages in a frog’s life cycle. Try making one of your own, on a paper plate or a piece of paper folded into 4 sections. Remember to add the labels to each stage.
