Junior Sprouts – April 20th

Hello Junior Sprouts! Welcome back to school, I hope you had a great weekend.

Engage

Can you think back to when we talked about a butterfly’s life cycle? Remember it goes through 4 stages? Egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, butterfly.

Here are pictures of two of the stages. Can you draw them and print the words?

Explore

Our letter this week is ‘v’, like at the beginning of vacuum and volcano. Butterfly doesn’t start with ‘v’, but I wrote a poem about a butterfly named Victor…that starts with ‘v’. Have someone read the poem to you. Can you find all the words that begin with ‘v’? Print them on a piece of paper.

Share

I drew a picture of some butterflies, and I hid some ‘v’s in it! How many can you count?

I can spot 11 hidden ‘v’s.

Try making a ‘v’ butterfly picture of your own!

Extend

There are some words below with some letters missing! Can you sound out the word and see what’s missing? Print the missing letters. Is one missing our sound for this week?

Check your answers by looking at the page here:

Did you spell all of the words correctly? Nice work!
